Darra - Fedamore, Ireland
I played Rugby some years ago with Young Munster R.F.C.
Same Club as Paul O'Connell, Peter Clohessy & Mike Mullins.
I'm Married to Margaret, we have 2 girls named Ruth & Leah ages 8 & 5
When I heard that Doug was in the process of signing with Munster, it had to be the best piece of news that i received in years, I have watched Doug Playing with the All Blacks for some years & Super 12, Super 14, i totally admire his work rate, handling skills.
Doug has long being admired as a excellent player and the work he carries out on the with The Doug Howlett Outreach Foundation.
I think his a true sports man, and i'm delighted that he has signed with Munster.
The Question I would like to ask Doug is:
How did you feel when played in Thomand Park against London Wasps earlier this Year??
Please find attached a Photo of my two brothers and myself holding the H-CUP, I'm the guy in the middle.

Darren - Clonmel, Ireland
My name is Darren (Scooter) from Clonmel, Ireland. I live for rugby and living in Munster I guess there was only ever one team I was going to support.
I love the team and Doug you are a legend... Thanks for this

Brian - Pennsylvania, USA
My name is Brian and I live in Hummelstown Pennsylvania (USA). I'm honored
to be named Fan of the Month considering I knew almost nothing about rugby
until three years ago!
In 2005, I took a vacation to New Zealand to visit an American friend
working there. By coincidence, my trip aligned with the 2005 Lions tour. I
didn't even know what a try was when I arrived, but we watched the first
test with some Kiwi friends, and from that night I was hooked. I've been
following the All Blacks faithfully since then and have become an enormous
fan. As you can see from the photo, my son Patrick is also a proud
supporter. I had a dish installed so I can see the games, and have been
able to follow Munster as well. I was thrilled to see them win the
Heineken cup.
I've been coaching cross country and track at various levels for the past
21 years. I can't remember the exact game, but I remember watching Doug
break away for a try and thinking, "wow, I'd love to have that guy on my
4x4." I read he has a 10.8 100 meter p.r., and based on that speed, plus
the stamina you need to play international rugby, I figure he could easily
split in the high-46 range for 400m with some good coaching. So my
questions for Doug are:
1. What are your best times for 200 and/or 400?
and
2. Would you like use up any of your collegiate track eligibility here in
the US? It worked out ok for Nick Willis.
I look forward to the Munster/USA Eagles game in August and my wife and I
(and Patrick) hope to meet you at the post-game reception.

James - Kerry, Ireland
Hi! my name is James, Im 16 years old, thats me there in my beloved all blacks jersey (I'm irish by the way).
I live in the beautiful Kingdom of Kerry in the south west of Ireland and Munster, its not a part of ireland that produces a lot of rugby players. The best kerry rugby player ever was Mick Galway(retired) and O Sullivan(current player) and thats about all the Kerry players in history I can think of.
I'm currently sitting my Junior Cert exams which are semi important exams, they're not life defining but they give you a good idea of what you can do.
If i remember correctly once I had nothing to do and I turned on the tv and I saw a Scotland v Wales game, it was the first rugby game I ever saw. Lucky for me it was a very good game and I've been aditicted to rugby ever since.
I've never attended a pro rugby match but this month I hope to join the Munster supporters club which means you get to buy a magners league season tickets.
The first time I ever saw doug was when he played against Ireland at Lansdowne road in 2005. I think he scored a try in that game, and ever since I have been very impressed with his speed and determination and his play in general.
It a honour to be fan of the month, I did not even know that there was a fan of the month, Iwas just enjoying talking to you all.
My questions for Doug are:
1.What was the most memorable and funniest memory (off the field and besides winning the cup) you have of Ireland since he moved here?
2. Munster v All Blacks, can ye win?

Noreen - Munster, Ireland
Well, my name is Noreen and I am a mum of 3. I work full time both inside and outside of the home and have been lucky enough to meet Doug twice since his arrival here. My family and I have always been huge rugby fans with of course Munster being no.1 and then the Irish national team. As we say here 'Irish by birth, Munster by the Grace of God'.
We are all delighted to have Doug here, we are big fans of the All Blacks and we do keep up with Super 14, Tri Nations and the NPC and have watched Doug play many times before he arrived here.
We go to as many games here as we can get tickets for and wear our Munster jerserys with pride.
My question for Doug is what differences has he found, if any between Northern and Southern hemisphere rugby?
Doug replies:
The primary difference is the weather and how teams adapt and have to play to the conditions. Another difference is how forwards in NZ can run and pass and play like backs, regardless of whether they are wearing number 1 through to 8, although things are starting to change a lot more up here.
Traveling with the team is a breeze. It is rare that we are gone for more than one night because all the teams are so close in distance, compared with the Super14 where we would spend 3 weeks in South Africa, which is a welcome change now that I'm a dad - a lot more time with my family.
Thanks for your question.
Doug.

Sean - Cork, Ireland
I'm 22 and have been a Munster fan for as long as I can remember, have always been a big fan of Dougie as I would always support the Blues during the Super 14. I have always seen Doug as being a crucial game breaker for his team and an opponent that oppositions both respect and fear.
For him to come to Munster is a huge asset for the team and for the fans, I have yet to meet him but looking forward to it someday. Only joined the club recently and have enjoyed talking to others and sharing the Munster spirit with ye, We are all very proud of our 1978 win over the All Blacks (funnily enough the same year Doug was born) and look forward to the next time they play against us in the "new" Thomond Park, luckly for us we will have Doug on our side.
My question to Doug is not one about rugby but about classic cars: You once said that the 1969 Camaro is one of your favourite muscle cars in an interview with Chris Jack "on the couch", whats your opinion on Eleanor, 1968 Shelby GT500?
The lack of "decent" muscle cars is Cork/ Ireland is horrible!!
Doug replies:
The Eleanor is certainly one of my top three muscle cars. The other one being the Dodge Challenger. The movie 'Gone in 60 seconds' has certainly raised its profile, and also its price?! I have yet to see one in the flesh as such but look forward to that opportunity.
I haven't seen many classic cars up in Ireland yet but continue to satisfy my interest by scouring the pics on the internet. Thanks for your question. I look forward to seeing you at our next home game.
Doug.
